AM Stretching
Dorothy Hunter founded Tumble Bug in 1983, which later became Rising Star Tumbling and Dance Studio! She has passed on the business to her daughter but is still an active teacher of AM Stretching classes. Miss Dorothy meets with her students Tuesdays and Thursdays year-round — except for holidays, of course!
Hip Hop
Jessica Francis invites you to get ready to move, groove, and have fun in this energetic hip hop class designed specifically for adults! Whether you’re new to dance or returning after a break, this class welcomes all skill levels and focuses on building rhythm, body control, and freestyle creativity. Hip Hop Adult classes are session-based and the next one begins April 4 to May 23.
Tap and Groove
Elizabeth Gilbert showcases a mixture of tap and exercise in this class. It’s for the tapper with no to some experience. It will get your feet moving along with your body for a class full of fun! Tap is great exercise and excellent for memory. This class is session-based. The next session is from Apr. 3 to May 22.
Ballet
This class taught by Rising Star’s newest teacher Craig Mitchell is designed for adults who want to start or have previously danced ballet. Ballet focuses on back and core development, arm gracefulness, strength, flexibility, and the endurance for complex movements and also teaches movements that flow from form and that reflects human emotion. Adult Ballet will follow a traditional format including barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. Classes also include science-based strength training.
RockStar
Rising Star’s AJ Campbell teaches the RockStar Dance class. This class is for individuals with special needs, regardless of their different abilities. Benefits of this class include (but are not limited to) physical strength and coordination, improvement in flexibility and motor skills, increase in confidence and self-esteem, an outlet for creativity and imagination, and an excellent activity for stress relief. This class is intended to benefit the overall health of the body and mind. RockStar is offered in two sessions and will culminate with a showcase during the last class of each. The second session also participates in the annual Recital! Dance is for everyone and we are so excited to share our love of dance with you!
