Meet Coach Chris Larsen – Diving Coach & Safety Expert
Chris Larsen brings decades of experience in coaching, gymnastics, and safety leadership to his role as the diving coach at Kelly Walsh High School. Known for his empowering coaching philosophy — “Ensure each student progresses in a safe but fun environment. When students are anxiously engaged and excited to participate, they will gain confidence, strength, and the ability to meet the goals they have set for themselves” — Coach Chris is dedicated to helping young athletes succeed both in and out of the pool.
Athletic Background & Coaching Experience
Originally from Payson, Utah, Chris began coaching boys’ gymnastics at just 14 years old at Wasatch Gymnastics in Logan, Utah, where he also trained and competed in men’s gymnastics throughout high school. His passion for coaching continued as he became:

Chris holds a dual bachelor’s degree in Bioveterinary Science and Public Health, with an emphasis in Industrial Hygiene. His professional career is as impressive as his coaching record.
He serves as the Industrial Hygiene and Safety Coordinator at HF Sinclair Casper Refining, where he also leads as a Captain of the Emergency Response Team. His certifications include:
